StashTracker 2.4: A Big Redesign, Dashboard Upgrades, and Data Export
StashTracker 2.4: A Big Redesign, Dashboard Upgrades, and Data Export
Version 2.4 is one of the largest updates StashTracker has gotten so far. It touches almost every part of the app, from the look and feel down to how you interact with your stash and patterns. Here's everything that's new.
UI/UX Overhaul
The whole app got a fresh coat of paint. Transitions are cleaner, spacing is more breathable, and interface elements are clearer so you can find what you need without hunting through menus. It's the same StashTracker, just easier on the eyes and easier to use.
Dashboard Enhancements
The dashboard is where most of the love went this update:
- Clickable stash breakdown so you can jump straight into a category from the overview
- Improved low stock visibility so you know what you're running out of at a glance
- Pattern progress tracking front and center on the dashboard
- Customizable element positioning (premium) so you can arrange the dashboard the way you actually use it
Inventory Updates
- When an item doesn't have a photo, the inventory now shows the item's color instead of a generic icon. Much easier to scan visually.
- New filter chips for quick actions, so common filters are one tap away.
Pattern Management
Patterns got the same filter chip treatment, making it faster to drill down to exactly the pattern you're looking for.
Achievements System
A brand new achievements system is in. You'll get unlock notifications when you hit milestones, and visual indicators throughout the app showing your progress. A fun way to look back at how much you've actually made.
Voice Control Improvements
The voice increment feature in the stitch counter is now more reliable. If you tried it in 2.3 and had hit-or-miss results, give it another go.
Data Export
You can now export your stash data as JSON or CSV. Bring your data with you, back it up, or analyze it however you like. Your data has always been yours, and now it's even easier to take it with you.
Improved Onboarding
First-time users get a smoother introduction to the app, so getting started feels less overwhelming.
Accessibility
VoiceOver support has been updated to work properly with all the new layouts. Accessibility continues to be a priority with every release.
Performance and Fixes
- Reduced battery drain during regular use
- Smoother iCloud migrations when switching devices
- Improved error handling across the app
This was a long one to put together but I think it's worth it. Thanks as always for the feedback, bug reports, and feature requests, this update is full of things you asked for.
